Aisling McCallion's work is largely materialist with a focus on line and colour within the disciplines of textiles, sculpture and fashion. It is informed by place and interogation of socio-economic structures. From the border of Ireland and Northern Ireland, a fluid exchange space, where reality lives in a tripartite space, she explores the notion and impact of borders as concept and lived imaginary. The work often takes on contemporary reframing of vernacular craft methodologies and language-based media as radical tools for empathy building.

McCallion studied at Limerick School of Art and Design and the University of Limerick. She currently teaches in Year 1 across textiles and sculpture and in Fashion Design for Sustainability in LSAD. 

Recent work has been exhibited at The Lord Mayor's Pavillion, Cork (2025), Icelandic Textile Centre, Blönduós Iceland (2025), Market Gallery, Cork (2025)  and published in What Now (2025) curated by Kim Crowley, The Passage Between: Chaos & Flowers (2024) published by Mikayli Cahill, and The Sprawling Newspaper (2022).
